So last we chatted, I was getting things squared away to start the process of IVF. Well nothing ever goes quite as planned, does it?
We were waiting on my cycle to make an appearance, every woman's favorite thing, right?! Well it came, I called Dr. B and her staff informed me that I needed to continue to work on my weight loss to make our IVF as successful as possible. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but it makes sense. This delay also allowed us to finalize our financial situation. Funding is ready!
So instead of starting the IVF cycle, Dr. B wanted me to do a test to make sure my fallopian tubes are open, it's called a hysterosalpingogram (HSG). This went very well, tubes are open, eggs may travel to my uterus as they please! But... there was something abnormal in my uterus; all she could tell me was possibly a fibroid or polyps. This meant that I needed to have surgery :( So 2 days later, I checked myself into the hospital to have outpatient surgery, to have a hysteroscopy. I was put under general anesthesia for this, but was released later that day. The recovery has been slow, and I am still healing. From what I understand, this may delay the entire IVF process a couple more months. But to keep from going crazy, I am telling myself that this is better, everything will be perfect when we start IVF!
Hubby has been very patient through all of this, supporting me in every way possible. All things are still crossed, and prayers are still being said!
Until next time... (p.s. Delays will make the end product that much better!)
